What We Do

Compliance: Context

Compliance literally means adherence to an agreed rule or standard. Today, Compliance is growing in importance as both external and internal rules and standards increase in number and stature.

Compliance in Good Business goes beyond writing down the rules and hoping they don't get broken. Recent cases against large international organisations have shown that that doesn't work. To achieve effective compliance you need to be able to influence the behaviours of people and that involves much more than writing down rules and delivering cursory training.

Often viewed a burden, we see Compliance as a great opportunity. It enhances brand and reputation and is rewarded by increased loyalty and commitment from customers and employees. It helps gain the support of communities and government bodies. It encourages the positive news stories, rather than the bad. And increasingly, the evidence is that it attracts investors and partners who see good compliance as a critical indicator of good business.

We work with organisations to translate rules and standards into behaviours. This way Compliance becomes embedded into the 'DNA' of the organisation and the benefits can truly be realized. We specialise in general compliance across organisatons, as defined in Code of Conducts, or equivalent documents, but also work in more specialised areas.

You can read more about our core thinking on compliance in our Compliance Point of View document (opens as pdf in a new window).
