At i2a we believe that team visioning is a powerful engagement tool that helps develop alignment and commitment to a future state. We follow a proven process that can either be used strategically to agree direction or define organisational values, or tactically for teams that are challenged to implement one aspect of good business.
Creating a Shared Vision
Creating a shared vision is based on the principle that successful teams and individuals focus on the results they want. Whatever we focus on tends to be reinforced and the focus tends to make results happen.
For this reason our approach embraces the use of visualisation. By creating a relaxed workshop environment, in which all participating members are able to contribute, we use specially developed tools and techniques to help create an ideal future state, ensuring that this is unconstrained by what people think is possible.
Understanding Current Reality
Companies, teams and individuals often have a distorted perception of their current performance. We believe it is essential to the visioning process to understand the current position - this creates the tension between the current and future state which is required to drive change. i2a will spend time considering different aspects of the current operations, gathering feedback from team members and building a perspective of the current reality.
Selecting Options
We provide support to help decide how to bridge the gap between the current reality and desired future state. The object of this stage is to identify the improvement areas, or attractive opportunities, that should be pursued and assign high-level actions to progress these to the next stage.
We establish operating principles - statements of intent describing how a team will work together and make decisions. These are behavioural choices which articulate the values and beliefs as a team. Our role at this stage is to identify solutions/changes, timeframes and resource requirements.
