Deborah Grubbe advises in safe operations and engineering, focused particularly on the methodologies of making hard assets more effective. Deb works with clients at all levels to assess the current characteristics of an operation and suggests solutions to mitigate both short and longer term issues. She has applied her skillful analysis to provide safer operations in the oil and gas, chemical, aerospace and healthcare industries.
Deb is the former Vice President of Group Safety for BP plc, and was trained in the characteristics of safe operations during her 27 year career at DuPont, where she held corporate director positions in engineering, operations and safety. Deb was a consultant in safety culture to the Columbia Shuttle Accident Investigation Board, and has supported the demilitarisation of the US Chemical Weapons Stockpile. She currently works with NASA as a member of its Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Safety Council in the United States.
Deb has been appointed as the 2010 chair of The Institute for Sustainability, a technological community within the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).
